Car Plunges off PCH Cliff in Malibu

A car plunged over a Malibu cliff Saturday night, coming to rest 75 feet below in a ravine.

The accident happened at about 9 p.m. According to Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station, a black BMW carrying three people went over a cliff on the landside of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. The accident happened about a half mile north of Pepperdine University, PCH and John Tyler Dr.

Nearby witnesses saw the accident happen and quickly alerted emergency personnel.

Three people were injured. A man and woman suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to UCLA Medical Center. Another woman was transported by ambulance.

The cause of the car accident remains under investigation. The names and ages of the vehicle occupants have not been released.
