Hit-And-Run Driver Kills Bicyclist

A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a bicyclist on Wednesday in Pomona.

The accident happened at 5:29 p.m. at the intersection of Towne Ave. and Sixth St. in Pomona. According to Pomona Police Department Sergeant Christian Hsu, an SUV, either a Chrysler or a Dodge, was travelling northbound on Towne Ave. The SUV struck the bicyclist, who was riding on Sixth St. The driver then fled the scene of the accident.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The SUV is believed to have sustained moderate to major damage to its front-end.
