Multi-Vehicle Collision at PCH near Topanga Injures Six

|

Six people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle head-on collision that happened last Thursday at about 4:30 p.m. The accident happened on Pacific Coast Highway, just south of Topanga Canyon Blvd.

The collision forced the closure of one northbound lane and two southbound lanes for about two hours.

According to a fire department spokesman, six victims were taken to local hospitals, four with serious injuries. One person had to be extracted with the jaws of life.

This accident underscores the importance of every driver having high uninsured motorist policy limits on their vehicle. If one driver is responsible for many people suffering serious injuries, then there is a good chance that the at-fault driver will not have enough insurance to cover the full value of each victim's claim. But each victim who has uninsured motorist coverage – which is the same as underinsured motorist coverage – can make a claim under their own policy if the at-fault driver did not have enough insurance coverage. Having high uninsured/underinsured motorist policy limits is the only way you can protect yourself from negligent drivers who have no auto insurance, or not enough auto insurance.
