Pedestrian killed in Hit and Run Car Accident in Santa Monica Today

This morning at 5:50 a.m., a pedestrian was killed in a hit and run accident in Santa Monica at the intersection of Lincoln Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd.

Police have described the suspect's vehicle as a 2009, 2010 or 2011 dark gray Toyota Camry. The Toyota was southbound on Lincoln Blvd. when it struck the pedestrian, a male, who was walking westbound across Lincoln Blvd. The driver fled the scene without stopping.

The pedestrian was a white male in his early 60's or late 50's. According to witnesses, the pedestrian crossed the street against a red light. He was thrown 30 feet by the impact.

The Toyota has damage on the passenger side and is missing the passenger mirror.

The victim's name has not been released by the police.
