Driver Kills Pedestrian Crossing PCH

A car hit and killed a pedestrian who was crossing Pacific Coast Highway in Seal Beach Sunday night.

The accident happened just before 8:50 p.m. Pedestrian Holly Barish-Sablich, who turned 22 on Wednesday, was crossing PCH, north of Anderson St.,, when she was hit. According to Sergeant Steve Bowles of the Seal Beach Police Department, witnesses saw the pedestrian crossing PCH outside of a crosswalk.

Barish-Sablich was declared dead at the scene by Huntington Beach Fire Department paramedics.

The driver of the car that struck her stopped after the accident. The driver was taken to Seal Beach Police Department and interviewed by police. Officers determined that no alcohol was involved and released the driver.

The accident happened at the same intersection where three bicyclists were hit by a drunk driver on Saturday morning.
