Drunk Driving Accident on Big Tujunga Canyon Road Injures 4

A single vehicle accident that happened Thursday night in the Angeles National Forest is being blamed on a drunk driver.

The accident happened about 9:45 p.m. on Big Tujunga Canyon Rd. Sun Valley resident Carlos Navarro, 44-years-old, was driving a Mustang convertible. He had three passengers: two females and one male.

According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman, the driver was speeding when he lost control of his car in the 11900 block of Big Tujunga Canyon Rd. The car went off the roadway and rolled four times. Firefighters had to free three people from the mangled wreckage.

Four people were injured in the accident, one of whom suffered critical injuries.

Driver Navarro was arrested at the scene and charged with driving under the influence.
