Hit-and-Run Driver Critically Injures Pedestrian in Westminster

|

A pedestrian suffered critical injuries caused by a hit-and-run driver on Tuesday.

The accident happened about 7:30 p.m. on Bolsa Ave., in Westminster, just west of Beach Blvd. A stolen white Lexus SUV struck the pedestrian and slammed into a power pole, causing a power outage to the neighborhood. Police found a critically injured pedestrian near the SUV. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital.

After the crash, four suspects fled from the SUV. Two were arrested right away; the remaining two are still at large.

According to police, the Lexus SUV was stolen in a February 5th burglary.

A hit-and-run accident victim is often left with no recourse for their injuries and bills because the hit-and-run driver cannot be identified, or even if they later can be identified, they had no auto insurance. The only way to protect yourself financially from a hit-and-run driver is to have plenty of uninsured motorist coverage, which will cover you for injuries caused by a hit-and-run driver. The lawyers at our Santa Monica personal injury law firm recommend that every driver on the road carry uninsured motorist coverage of at least $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident. Call our office for a free consultation if you have been the victim of a hit-and-run accident or pedestrian accident.
