Elderly Pedestrian Killed in Double Hit-and-Run

|

An elderly pedestrian was killed in a double hit-and-run on Saturday morning in Pacoima.

The hit-and-run accident happened at about 6 a.m. The victim, 79-year-old Virginia Ramirez of Pacoima, was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk at Glenoaks Blvd. and Mercer St. in Pacoima. A driver struck the pedestrian, got out of his vehicle and looked at her lying in the street, then got back in his vehicle and drove away. Witnesses describe the driver as a Hispanic male, and his vehicle as a bright red pickup truck, possibly a Nissan Frontier.

Then a second car struck the pedestrian and drove away. That car is described as possibly a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The second driver was a female.

Police are seeking the public's help locating the two hit-and-run drivers.
