2-Vehicle Collision on 5 Freeway Near Santa Clarita Injures At Least 7

A two-vehicle crash on the southbound 5 Freeway injured at least seven people.

The accident happened at about 5 a.m. on Monday near Hasley Canyon Rd. The two vehicles involved in the crash were a van and a pickup truck.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at least seven people were injured in the accident. Two of the victims, including a four-year-old child, were reported to suffer critical injuries. The southbound Golden State (5) Freeway was closed to allow a medical helicopter to land on the freeway.

The cause of the collision has not been released. It is not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
