A pedestrian crossing Pacific Coast Highway at Artesia Blvd. in Hermosa Beach was struck by a car and suffered critical injuries today.
The accident happened at about 7:15 a.m. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the pedestrian, a female, was crossing PCH at Temple Ave. when a Toyota 4Runner SUV which was eastbound on PCH hit her.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with police. The female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital.
