3-Vehicle collision in San Pedro injures 5

|

A three-vehicle crash on the westbound Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro yesterday left five people injured.

The multi-vehicle collision happened at about 9:40 p.m. According to a fire official, two of the cars were traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph before the collision. The drivers may have been street racing.

Of the five people injured, one sustained critical injuries.

Every year, hundreds of people die or suffer injuries in accidents resulting from unsanctioned street racing. Street races often happen spontaneously. Street racers are commonly men, ages 15 to 24. They are often under the influence of alcohol. Collateral damage results when they hit other vehicles, pedestrians, or injure their unwitting passengers.

If you have been injured or lost a loved one as a result of an illegal street racing accident in California, you should speak with a personal injury attorney to learn about your right to compensation. Call McGee, Lerer and Associates for a free consultation.
