|

A hit and run crash Saturday night on Highway 118 in Simi Valley left 3 people injured.

The car accident happened about 9 p.m. on Highway 118, east of Erringer Rd. Two vehicles collided, then one of the vehicles ended up overturned in the trees about 20 feet from the freeway, down a hill on Tumbleweed Ave.

The other driver fled the scene of the accident, according to witnesses.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the witnesses were unable to provide a description of the hit and run vehicle, or any information about how the accident happened.

If you have been the victim of a hit and run accident, speak with a Santa Monica personal injury attorney at McGee, Lerer & Associates. Daniel McGee and Catherine Lerer are a husband and wife team with over 40 of combined experience representing serious injury victims. Without an attorney protecting you, the at-fault driver's insurance company will take advantage of you and pay you as little as they can get away with. Do not let that happen. You have a right to be compensated for your medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

If your vehicle was damaged in a car accident, but repairable, you are also entitled to be compensated for the "diminished value" of your vehicle. When you go to sell or trade in your car down the line, you will get less for it because of its accident history. This reduced value is referred to as "diminution in value." Under California law, the other driver's insurance company must pay you for this. The insurance company will not tell you about this right. You must demand it.
