Santa Monica Drunk Driver Arrested in Fatal 10 Fwy Accident

|

A Santa Monica driver was arrested for a fatal crash that happened on the 10 freeway Tuesday at 1:30 a.m.

Molly Kate Adams, a 21-year-old Santa Monica resident, was traveling westbound on the 10 freeway in a 2007 Audi when she rear-ended a big rig near Crenshaw Blvd. Adams had a 20-year-old female passenger: actress Sammi Kane Kraft.

After rear-ending the big rig, which was being driven by a 38-year-old Chino man, Adam's Audi was struck by another car, a Scion, as Adams' car was disabled in the 3rd and 4th lanes of the westbound 10 freeway.

After the second impact, Adams and Kraft were trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters. Both women were transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Kraft was pronounced dead at the hospital. Adams reportedly suffered moderate injuries.

According to CHP, Adams was speeding when the collision occurred. Adams was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
