Q: I was hit by a car. The driver told me at the scene he was driving for DoorDash. But DoorDash has denied coverage for the accident. Do I need a lawyer?

A: If you were injured in a car accident with a food delivery driver, you should get the advice of a personal injury lawyer. It is not unusual for food delivery services like UberEats, DoorDash, Postmates, and Grubhub to deny that a driver was on their app at the time of an accident, when in fact the driver was on the app. Even if the driver told you at the scene that he was in the midst of a delivery and logged into the DoorDash app, DoorDash may claim that the accident did not occur while the driver was acting as a food delivery operator.

A lawyer may have to file suit on your behalf against the driver and food delivery service before they will admit that the driver was logged into the app.

If the driver was driving for DoorDash at the time of the accident, there is 1 million in insurance coverage for your injuries.
