Pedestrians Hit by Car on Wilshire in Santa Monica

The number of pedestrian accidents in Santa Monica this year continues to ratchett up.

On Monday, two pedestrians were hit by car in Santa Monica at approximately 10:40 a.m. The pedestrians were crossing Wishire Blvd. at 16th St., heading south, in a marked crosswalk. They were struck by a 28-year-old driver.

The 61-year-old male pedestrian suffered multiple fractures. The 62-year-old female pedestrian suffered a head injury. Both were transported to a local hospital.

Based on the most recently available statistics, Santa Monica has the highest number of pedestrian accidents in California, compared to similarly-sized California cities.
