Motorcyclist Killed in Accident with Garbage Truck on PCH

|

A motorcyclist collided with a garbage truck today in Malibu, resulting in the motorcyclist's death.

The accident happened at about 9:00 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway at Rambla Vista. The motorcyclist struck a garbage truck, which was moving slowly and had its hazard lights on, according to Vivian May of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station. Both vehicles were traveling westbound.

After the accident, sheriff's department investigators interviewed the truck driver. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Statistically, motorcycle accidents are usually the fault of the other driver. That is because it can be difficult to see a motorcycle on the road. Yet insurance companies often attempt to blame the motorcyclist.
