Bicyclist Killed After Veering Off Road in the Santa Monica Mountains

|

Saturday morning, July 14th, 2012, a bicyclist, who was riding near the intersection of Mulholland Highway and Stunt Road in the Santa Monica mountains, was killed after he veered off the road and fell down a ravine. The victim was a black male, approximately 40 years old, and was reportedly alone when he fell. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

In cases such as this, many factors could have contributed to the man's accident and ultimate death. A distracted driver could have forced him to swerve and thus drive off the road into the ravine, a defective part on the bicycle could have been responsible for him losing control, poor road conditions such as potholes could have caused his accident, or any number of other factors.
