|

Rocker/Singer/Guitarist, Peter Frampton, suffered back and neck injuries, including possible whiplash, after being involved in a car accident on the 101 freeway in Southern California on July 31st, 2012. Following the accident, Frampton immediately turned to social media site Twitter, to report "Texting woman driver just ran into back of me while I was stationary in traffic 101 freeway. Can u say whiplash? People put the phones down!"

One of the most common causes of car accidents is driver distraction, such as texting while driving. While driver distractions can come in many forms, any time a driver takes his/her hands off the wheel, eyes off the road, or mind off their driving, they are putting themselves and others at risk. Cell phone use contributes to 18% of all driver distraction-related accidents in the United States. That is one of the reasons California lawmakers have made texting while driving illegal in the state of California.
