1 Dead, 3 Hurt after West LA Car Crash

|

A car wreck in West Los Angeles Sunday night left one person dead and 3 people injured.

The car crash happened at 11:30 p.m. on the corner of La Cienega Blvd. and Cashio St. The four victims, who were pedestrians, were standing on the corner in front of Flower Villa, an assisted-living facility, when a car jumped the curb and struck them.

According to police, prior to hitting the pedestrians, the driver of a black Ford Mustang was speeding northbound on La Cienega. The Mustang hit two cars, one of which was propelled up onto the curb, where it hit the four pedestrians.

One of four pedestrians was pronounced dead at the scene. According to police, the decedent is believed to be a transient who was living in the area.

The Mustang driver fled the scene on foot, but was later arrested. The drivers of the two vehicles struck by the Mustang suffered minor injuries.
