Drunk Driving Accident Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured in Moreno Valley

|

One person died and two people were injured as the result of a drunk driving collision in Moreno Valley Tuesday night.

The accident happened at 11:48 p.m. at the intersection of Cactus Ave. and Joy St. Drunk driver Luis Navarro, driving a silver Infinity G35 eastbound on Cactus, slammed into the rear of a gray Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma was hurled into a street signpost.

The three occupants of the Tacoma were transported to Riverside Community Regional Medical Center. One of the passengers, Ana Estrada, a 45-year-old Moreno Valley resident, was pronounced dead.

Navarro was arrested and booked for DUI, and other charges.

In this case, the probability is great that even if Navarro had auto insurance, he did not have enough auto insurance to cover the value of the decedent's family's wrongful death claim, and the two passengers' injury claims. If the decedent or the other two passengers had uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage on their own vehicles, they make be able to make a claim under their own auto insurance policies.
