A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian in Valencia on Saturday.
The accident happened about 6 p.m. The driver, Jonathan Anker, was southbound on Orchard Village Rd. near Dalbey Dr. His car struck a woman who was walking along the curb. Anker fled the scene of the accident.
Deputies stopped the hit-and-run driver near the scene; the front end of Anker's car had visible damage. The driver was booked on suspicion of vehicle manslaughter at the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station.
The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene of the accident. Her name has not been released.
