Big Rig Truck Nosedives Off Overpass onto 10 Freeway

|

Saturday morning, a big rig truck went off the edge of an overpass in Colton landing on a busy freeway below.

The tractor-trailer was transitioning from the southbound 215 freeway to the eastbound 10 freeway. The driver of the big rig lost control and the truck took a nosedive over the edge. It landed 100 ft. below on the eastbound 10 freeway.

Fire department personnel had to extract the truck driver from the wreckage. He was transported to a local hospital.

Caltrans was called in to clean up a 150 gallon fuel spill, which covered the roadway. Crews are inspecting damage to the overpass and 10 freeway.
